Who is Wilson Hines |

A Short Introduction to Mr. Hines...I am a 35 year old co-owner of a small trucking company in Eastern North Carolina, Bob Hines Trucking, Inc. After graduating from North Duplin High School in 1992, I attended Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN (Knoxville area) and majored in Pastoral Theology. By listening to and learning from my Greek professor, the late Kieth Kiser, I learned about the fascinating world of Koine Greek linguistics. This fascination with the language has developed into a love over the many years. He started the class out on the first day saying "This class isn't, at all, intended on being a step into 'Textual Criticism.'" He went on to explain that we, Baptist, aren't interested in such research. I wasn't interested either, but the older I get the more I am interested in Textual Criticism. I also enjoy Third Wave coffee. I am a fan of the people involved in the chain of distribution of specialty coffee and their efforts. I have written for, and I currently write articles for, Barista Magazine . I am a radio show host on a popular radio show, The Produce Trucker, and I write for "Careers in Gear Magazine." And to "beat all," I am enrolled and taking classes in order to complete my B.A degree at Campbell University, which will be in Linguistics, concentrating on German, French and Latin. You may be interested in my college "Ice Breaker" statement for some of my classes that we are required to develop. It truly states my goals. It is my educational goal to finish my B.A and move forward with my ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. After this, I would like a research PhD from DTS, as well. The goal in all of this is to teach Biblical Linguistics and NT Theology, at the undergraduate and seminary level, at a conservative evangelical college and/or seminary. A big dream of mine is to one day help plan and start a N.T Textual Criticism department at such a school as would be interested. As you may be able to tell, if you went to Crown with me, my theology and thus my outlook is very, very different from that time in my life. I'm still a Baptist. I still love Jesus Christ. I still believe in the inerrancy of Scripture. However, I am Irenic and I believe in the "historical veracity" of the Church and that for which is stands. |
